BACKGROUND
It wasn't easy being the eldest son of one of South Korea's richest and influential businessmen and politicians. His father had connections and influences in just about every branch of government, and not just in Seoul. As such, his father expected a great deal of Yoochun. All through his life, Yoochun had been bred to become a carbon copy of his father; cold, ruthless and confident. The trouble was, Yoochun tended to take after his mother more than his father. At a young age, he developed a love for music. It didn't matter what kind of music, he loved it all.
This displeased his father greatly, and he did everything in his power to destroy this love of music that young Yoochun had. But no matter what he did, Yoochun never gave up his love of music. Instead, he learned to hide it from his father. Despite that, his father felt that Yoochun needed a "proper" upbringing. So, his father sent him to a private school, with other boy's his age. It was here that he learned the value of honor and respect, and of loyalty.
As he grew up, Yoochun understood that he was being trained to take his father's place. As a prominent politician in Seoul, his father wielded great power and he wanted his son to take over for him when the time was right. It didn't matter to him whether or not that was the path that Yoochun wanted for himself. Yoochun learned to be loyal, so what his father wanted, was what his father received.
When Yoochun was accepted into Yonsei University, his father was ecstatic. His son was truly following in his footsteps. As an alumni at the same school, Yoochun knew that he would be hard pressed to make a name for himself. Joining the same fraternity that his father was a member of had been the first step for him to gain his father's approval. The next was to major in Political Science. Even though he knew it would be difficult, he requested a second major, that of Music Theory & Composition. He figured that if he followed his father's path, then the elder Park wouldn't disapprove of his desire to major in what he truly loved.
His gamble paid off. His father was all for it, so long as he could handle it and his grades didn't falter. To that end, Yoochun joined various sports and clubs that he knew his father would approve of. It was extremely hard work, but by the start of his senior year, he had most of his classes in a schedule that he could live with, and he'd become President of their fraternity, another path he had followed from his father.
His last year of university was a bit more exciting than he'd have liked. It came out during the school year that he'd been married for two years. His father had objected to his union with his girlfriend, but they had waited until they were of age and married secretly. In March of that same year, his father passed away but not before he'd finally given his consent to Yoochun and his bride. The next month, the two were officially married in a beautiful ceremony Yoochun had always wanted to give his love.
Now at the age of 24, he was graduated, with a beautiful wife. They had chosen to move into Haneul Towers because it was close to his home office. After graduation, he had finally decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a politician. He'd been elected to a minor committee, and was working his way up to the National Assembly.
His wife was expecting their first child, and he spent all of his spare time doting on her and their unborn child.
FACTS
Love at first sight. Met his wife when they were in high school and it was love at first sight. Her family was lower income, and so his father felt she was beneath his son and forbade them from seeing each other. But true love overcomes all, at least Yoochun felt that way. He wasn't going to let a little thing like his father's disapproval keep him from the woman he loved.
Like father like son. Despite not wanting to follow in his father's footsteps, Yoochun has followed him in one aspect; politics. Even though his first love is music, he knows he needs to provide for his family, so has taken the plunge into the political world. He currently is an intern for one of the assemblymen in the local area.
Romance is never dead. Yoochun prides himself on being a romantic. He likes to come home with a box of chocolates, a single red rose, anything that he thinks will bring a smile to his wife's face. They'd been apart for so long, it was like a dream finally being with her full time.
